I enjoyed my stay at Cipreses, where the inviting gardens and friendly staff. While the walls between rooms were thin, the charming atmosphere and clean conditions more than compensated. A lovely, artistic retreat in Monteverde that I'd recommend.

The gardens provide a beautiful setting, attracting a variety of birds. Breakfast included delicious home-baked Alentejo bread that was a highlight. However, the toilet leaked in our room, necessitating a move to one up a steep flight of stairs. Nights were chilly, and the lack of heating forced us to wear fleece jackets and extra blankets. Breakfast was chaotic, with a delay in food replenishment that made timing our tour difficult.

The breakfast was a good start, fresh fruits and fried bananas, quite delicious! The staff were really friendly, helped us out with some tour info, made our stay feel a bit more tailored.

It wasn't cheap. but acceptable.
